Deer Valley: one of the most exclusive ski resorts in the United States

Just 10 minutes from Park City, Deer Valley combines the perfect ski trip with a high level of comfort and convenience

One of the most exclusive ski resorts in the United States, Deer Valley is known for its impeccable service and detailed infrastructure: there are, for example, day lodges near the slopes for skiers to relax in between slopes, a free space to store equipment at the base of the mountain, plus support from concierges and “ski valets” and countless ski-in/ski-out restaurants. It’s the kind of place that has an oyster bar near the slopes, serves Veuve Clicquot during the après-ski and where it’s difficult to find an accommodation option with fewer than five-stars.

To guarantee the perfect descents with over 100 slopes, the resort limits the number of daily visitors on the mountain, in addition to not allowing the practice of snowboarding. Families traveling together will love the peaceful atmosphere of this small-scale, exclusive resort which offers activities for the kids, a renowned ski school and the Children’s Center with supervised activities that spark the imagination and group activities for kids ages 2 months to 12 years old. Those looking for a lively experience have the convenience of the close proximity to Park City, which has stores, nightlife and hosts the Sundance Film Festival in January.

The newest addition to this season is the Rime Raw Bar at Deer Valley, a new mountain restaurant installed in a hut on top of the Jordanelle gondola, specializing in seafood. Servings of oysters, tuna tartare, lobster rolls and the famous fish soup “Chowder” are on the menu. If you’ve put your ski day to an end, there’s beer, wine and sparkling wine to go with it.

Our tip: the experienced photographers at Mountain Ridge Photography circulate the mountain and capture skiers in action. The store is on the first floor of the Snow Park Lodge – you can contact them directly to arrange a session.
